I LOVE the Friday Five (Halloween Edition)

Happy Friday everyone! I LOVE making foods that relate to a particular holiday. It's fun, festive and gives you an excuse to eat worse than your normal diet will allow. Below I am going to show you five of my favorite Halloween party foods. Enjoy!


Here is your Halloween Edition of the Friday Five:


1. I LOVE Oreo Spiders. These are cute, delicious, and easy to make. Buy Oreo's, black liquorish, black icing, and miniature m&ms. Tear the liquorish into smaller pieces and stick them into the icing of the Oreo to create the spider legs. Make two dots of the black icing on top of the Oreo to "glue" the miniature m&ms onto the Oreo to create the spider eyes.
 




2. I LOVE Miniature Mummy's. These are commonly known as "pigs in a blanket", although, you wrap the croissant around the hot dog to look like a mummy. Use mustard to create the eyes. 
 




3. I LOVE Pumpkin Dip. 
{1} 15 oz can of pumpkin pie mix
{1} 5 oz box of instant vanilla pudding
{1} 16 oz container of cool whip  {low fat}
{1/2} tbl Pumpkin Pie Spice
{1/2} tbl Cinnamon
Mix pumpkin , pudding mix, cool whip, and pumpkin pie spice together {by hand} in a very large bowl.
Chill for several hours before serving. Meanwhile, carve your pumpkin
Sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve with fresh apples slices, vanilla wafers or ginger snaps.



4. I LOVE Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins.
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 (6 ounce) package butterscotch chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease mini-muffin pan with cooking spray.
Sift together the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl. Whisk together the eggs, butter, and pumpkin in a separate bowl. Mix the flour mixture with the egg mixture. Stir in the butterscotch chips; pour into each cup of the muffin pan to about 3/4 full. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, 10 to 12 minutes.

5. I LOVE Candy Corn Party Mix. This is so simple to make. Mix candy corn, pretzels, peanuts, m&ms and raisins together for a great party mix. Last year I made this with the candy pumpkins and no one ate the pumpkins so this year I will change those out with candy corn.
