I LOVE the weekend recap

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very restful which was greatly needed after an extra long work week.

So, the weekend recap has become somewhat normal here at LOVE, sje. I'm not going to promise to have one every Monday but I'll do my best  :)

Tucker and I agreed this weekend was a success so a high-five was completely necessary:

I LOVE Flashback Friday

I hope everyone had a great week. This week felt long but maybe that is because I have to work until 1am tonight and have not been looking forward to it. One of the main reasons I am bummed that I have to work is because tonight is the opening ceremony for the Olympics and I really want to watch it. Oh well, at least I'll be making some moo-la.

With that being said, today's flashback is...

1996 Summer Olympics!
Let's take a *scroll* down memory lane.

Below is info taken from Wikipedia:

The 1996 Summer Olympics, known officially as the Games of the XXVI Olympiad and unofficially as the Centennial Olympics, was a major international multi-sport event that took place in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, from July 19 to August 4, 1996. A record 197 nations, all current IOC member nations, took part in the Games, comprising 10,318 athletes. Atlanta became the fifth American city to host the Olympic Games and the third to hold a Summer Olympic Games.

The song "The Power of the Dream", composed by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and David Foster, with words by Linda Thompson was performed in the opening ceremony by CĂ©line Dion accompanied by David Foster on the piano, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Centennial Choir (Morehouse College Glee Club, Spelman College Glee Club and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus). Gladys Knight sang "Georgia on My Mind", Georgia's official state song, at the opening ceremony. Muhammad Ali lit the Olympic torch during the opening ceremonies of the games and received a replacement gold medal for his boxing victory in the 1960 Summer Olympics. For the torch ceremony, more than 10,000 Olympic torches were manufactured by the American Meter Company and electroplated by Erie Plating Company. Each torch weighed about 3.5 pounds (1.6 kg) and was made primarily of aluminum, with a Georgia pecan wood handle and gold ornamentation.

I LOVE the weekend recap

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! As you know, we went to NC to visit family and celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday. I will never forget the sweet sound of Jaxon singing "Happy Birthday" to his brother Graham. He was so excited to celebrate his brother's birthday. It was great to spend some quality time with our two precious nephews.

Thank you Josh & Melissa for hosting a fun weekend. We LOVE you!

On Sunday as we were driving home, Michael and I were able to watch/listen to our church online (another reason why I LOVE Seacoast Church). I LOVE how God speaks to us everyday and knows exactly what we need to hear to help us get through this thing called life. Briefly, the message was about LOVE and how God's LOVE endures through all things and no matter what struggles life brings us we must always remember that God is good all the time.

We were reminded of Romans 8:28:
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

In all things. What an amazing promise, right?? Even in the darkest moments, God is working for the good of those who LOVE him. Thank you, God!

Have a fabulous week, friends!

I LOVE Flashback Friday

This was a sad Friday morning as the first thing I heard after turning on the news was the shooting in Colorado. My heart is very heavy for that city and especially the family's of the victims. I am thankful for the hope in the Lord and knowing that even in the midst of tragedy he is here with us. I pray that through this tragedy people will come to know the Lord and that his kingdom will be expanded.

I am thankful that I was able to wake up to Friday! Give thanks daily!!

Today's flashback is...

A picture of me when I turned 1!

This weekend we are headed to NC to celebrate our nephew's 1st birthday. When I was thinking about what flashback to write about I immediately thought about a picture of me when I turned 1. Looking at this picture I look relatively happy and my parents have told me that I hated getting my picture taken which I was young so I bet they were glad to get this one. ha!

A few things about this picture:

I LOVE that there is a little bow in my hair - my daughter will also wear bows at all times.

I LOVE that I have a ring on - my parents must have know that I would LOVE jewelry.

What am I holding??? ha.

Happy 1st Birthday, Graham! Uncle Michael and Aunt Sarah are excited to celebrate with you!

Have a great weekend friends!

I LOVE weddings

I graduated college (Go App!) with a degree in Communications/Public Relations and a minor in Sociology with the desire to become a wedding planner. Although, that would mean I had to work most every Friday night and Saturday - uhhhhhh, no thank you. I realized my LOVE of the weekends outweighed my desire to become a wedding planner. Now, I work at a place that has a wedding almost every weekend and I get to see all the fun that goes into it without having to do any of the hard work - score!

My LOVE for weddings has only grown over the past few years since I am at the age where most of my friends are getting married. I am amazed at how many different idea's have gone into creating the perfect celebration for each couple.

Now, that Pinterest is around I constantly look at the wedding boards. I would like to high-five a lot of the bride's who's weddings I see because they are a-ma-zing. Here are a few of my favorite idea's along with where I found it (in no particular order):

Jenn's dress, necklace, and veil - topped off with the perfect smile.

Blair meeting her dad before walking down the isle by a horse and carriage.

Preston & Rebecca's at home wedding.

Kellie & Jason's get-away car.

Amanda & Nick's homemade pumpkin bread favor.

Scott & Christen's outdoor wedding - esp the haystack seating.

and now my Pinterest faves:

I LOVE this sign.

Table setting perfection.

If you do this your guests will automatically know they are going to have a good time.

Take a picture of your first kiss with the audience in the background instead of the minister.

Michael & I poured sand together but I wish I would have thought to do it in a shadow box with our picture.

I'll save the rest for another day :)
What are some of your most creative wedding ideas??
