I LOVE Flashback Friday

It feels like Friday took forever to get here this week. I woke up Wednesday feeling like it was Friday. I was greatly disappointed when I realized it wasn't. At least it is a long weekend! My longtime friend, Ashley, is coming to visit and I am so excited for her arrival. We are going to have a blast this weekend!

Today's flashback is...

Tamagotchi!

I LOVED my tamagotchi. I know most of you had one and took it with you everywhere you went. It was your responsibility to keep that thing alive. I remember having to feed it, clean up after it, put it to bed, etc. If you didn't take care of it, it would die. I don't think it actually taught me responsibility but it sure was fun!

If you missed out on this fad here are some facts (from Wikipedia) about the tamagotchi:
A Tamagotchi is a keychain-sized virtual pet simulation game for children. The characters are colorful and simplistically designed creatures based on animals, objects, or people. Tamagotchis are a small alien species that deposited an egg on Earth to see what life was like, and it is up to the player to raise the egg into an adult creature. The creature goes through several stages of growth, and will develop differently depending on the care the player provides, with better care resulting in an adult creature that is smarter, happier, and requires less attention.

Did you take care of your own tamagotchi? Let me know if you LOVED it as much as I did. Have a fun & safe long weekend!

I LOVE to mix & match, part 2

After writing my mix & match post, I found out that most of you also LOVED the idea of mixing & matching but felt lost when it came time to putting an outfit together. I am a visual learner so if I am able to see an example, I am able to get it. Otherwise, I am lost. So, for my fellow visual learners, I have put together some mix & match outfits that I would wear and maybe you would too!

It is a little easier to understand now that you have seen some examples? Would you wear any of these outfits? Let me know if you try the mix & match look!

I LOVE Beth Moore: Living Proof Live

This weekend, I attended my first Beth Moore conference and was blown away. She taught the word of God boldly and without any hesitation. Travis Cottrell lead us in worship while sincerely praising the Lord. The best part of the weekend was the time I was able to spend with my mom and sister-in-law. We stayed up late, shopped, and greatly enjoyed each others company. My mom has wanted to meet Travis Cottrell for the longest time and thanks to his niece and my sister-in-law, Ashley, she was able to this weekend. I LOVED seeing the surprised look on her face when I told her that he was expecting us. The weekend went by too quickly and I wasn't ready to see it end. If you haven't been to a Beth Moore conference before, I highly recommend gathering your best girlfriends and going - you won't be disappointed!

While we were having girl time, Michael took Hannah on a Saturday morning date to the beach. They looked for seashells and played at the beach before cooling off with some icecream. He is already looking forward to their next date!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I LOVE Flashback Friday

I am so excited for this weekend. As I write this, my mom and sister-in-law are on their way to Charleston for the weekend. We are attending the Living Proof Live with Beth Moore Conference tonight and tomorrow. The ever-so-talented Travis Cottrell will also be there leading us in worship. My best friend, Britney and her mom are also going. Boy, I am blessed!

This week was the beginning of school for Charleston kids. I have many friends who are teachers that have either already started classes or will next week which made me think of today's flashback...

Lisa Frank!

I used to LOVE to go back-to-school shopping. When I was in elementary school, I had to have everything Lisa Frank. Her colorful images were extremely popular at Millis Road Elementary School. All of my girlfriends had Lisa Frank folders, trapper keepers, stickers and lunchboxes and we LOVED each and every one of them.

I wonder if Lisa Frank is still popular today? She has a website so I know she is still around. I assume today's youngsters LOVE everything Twilight and Justin Bieber. I can't say that I blame them...

Did you LOVE Lisa Frank back-in-the-day? Have a great weekend, friends!

I LOVE What Not To Wear

You know the TV show, What Not To Wear? I LOVE it. I used to watch this show all the time and for some unknown reason I stopped. Last night, I caught an episode of What Not To Wear and I fell in LOVE with it all over again.

One thing you may not know about me...I have a part time job as a stylist. Although, not the stylist that you are picturing. I choose clothes for different body types, not for one particular person. Everything is done online. My boss has hundreds of clients who she writes style articles for and I tell them what pieces of clothing (generally) will flatter their body type the best. I am by no means a fashion expert but I can tell you what not to wear, ha! It's a lot of fun.

Now you can understand why I LOVE What Not To Wear. Watching this show is a learning session for me.  I LOVE watching Stacy & Clinton increase someones confidence by explaining to them what looks best on them while keeping in mind their personal style.

Who knows, maybe one day I'll start styling individual people. If so, I may have to buy What Not To Wear DVDs to study up :)

I LOVED Jenn's baby shower

Yesterday, I attended a baby shower celebrating my friend Jenn and her baby girl, Reese. Kayley and Audra did an amazing job planning the shower. The theme of the shower matched Reese's nursery: grey, pink, and elephants. It has been way too long since I have been able to hang out with these girls and I LOVED seeing each of them.
