I LOVE Flashback Friday

Happy Friday, friends! Sorry I haven't posted the past couple of days but I came down with a stomach bug and was extremely under-the-weather. I'm finally feeling back to normal, thank goodness! My husband and I signed up for the Reindeer Run tomorrow morning and we are going to the A21 benefit tomorrow night so I am so happy to be feeling better. I'm not sure if it is a smart idea to be running a 5k after being sick for 2 days but we'll see how I do. We bought fun costumes to wear for the run so I'll be sharing those with you next week :)

Don't forget...you are invited to the A21 benefit too!

You are invited!
The A21 Benefit Concert featuring
The Explorers Club and Mechanical River

Admission is free and the Cafe will have

Now for today's flashback...

Don't Break the Ice!

Don't Break the Ice was a game where you would hammer out pieces of the ice while trying not to break the entire thing which would make the red man fall. I used to LOVE this game. I was pretty darn good at it too :)

Did any of you LOVE Don't Break the Ice as much as I did?

Have a great weekend, friends!

I LOVE Christmas decorating

Last night, Michael and I pulled out all of our Christmas decorations and went to work on our condo. I LOVE everything about Christmas. Now that our place is fully decorated and my radio is constantly playing Christmas music, I feel like the season has officially begun!

I highlight these two special ornaments each year. We call our tree the "E" tree and have since we've been married so our topper is always this gold sparkle E.
The sand dollar ornament was our wedding favor. On the back, it has our names with the date we were married. So, obviously, this goes on the top of our tree every year!
Do you LOVE to decorate for Christmas as much as I do? What are your favorite Christmas decorations?

I LOVE the Thanksgiving Recap

My Thanksgiving was absolutely perfect. I was able to leave work early on Wednesday and without much traffic, we made it to Florida. Tucker was ready for a long weekend away :)

Thanksgiving morning we woke up and started cooking while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Tucker went for a swim...

We headed over to my Aunt & Uncle's house to eat our Thanksgiving meal.

Of course, family pictures were taken.

After the big meal, we went upstairs to the theater room and kicked off the Christmas season with the movie Elf

Friday, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and took a walk on the beach.

Friday night, we went to a local theater to watch the play, "A Christmas Carol".

Saturday, Michael and I wanted to watch the football games at a local sports bar so my parents recommended Bunky's. They had delicious wings and an entertaining crowd!

We returned home Saturday night for lasagna dinner with the entire family.

We woke up Sunday morning and headed back to Charleston. Since Thanksgiving was over, it was time to buy our Christmas tree. We always buy our tree from the Firestone parking lot because those tree's are brought down from Ashe County which is near where Michael grew up. We try to shop local as much as we can!

After we got home and unpacked, Nate came over and helped put the lights on the tree. We'll finish decorating it tonight and I'll be sure to show y'all the finished product :)

Have a great Cyber Monday!

I LOVE Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow! Where has November, actually this entire year, gone? I am writing my Thanksgiving post today because I will not be blogging again until next week. Vacation starts at this afternoon and I will be taking full advantage of it.

We are spending Thanksgiving with my family in Florida and I am so excited. Since my parents lived over sea's for a while, this will be the first Thanksgiving together in 5 years. Last year, my parents came to Charleston in early November to celebrate the holiday but I am so excited to actually be with them on Thanksgiving Day. I will miss seeing my in-laws though - see y'all at Christmas!

I am thankful for so much that it would take multiple posts to write it all down so I will only highlight a few.
  • I am thankful for my salvation. Many days it is hard to believe that Christ would die on the cross with me in mind while knowing how many times I will fail him. He LOVES me so much that he gave up his life for me and has completely forgiven me. Thank you, Jesus!
  • I am thankful for my husband who I fall in LOVE with more and more everyday. He is my biggest supporter and he brings out the best in me. I can honestly say that he is my best friend and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world because I get to spend forever with him.
  • I am thankful for my family. This includes my blood family, my in-laws, and my church family.  I am thankful that no matter what the circumstance they are there for me and will LOVE me through it all. These people lift me up and encourage me daily. I know that each and every person was put in my life for a reason and I am thankful for them all.
  • I am thankful for my friends. Most of my closest friends don't live in Charleston but the bond we share continues to stay strong. I am thankful for life-long friends that will be there in an instant if I need them. We've shared lots of laughs and life changing events. I know these friends will be with me forever and I am so grateful for them.
  • And of course, I am thankful for my health, my job, my home, my dog...all of which are very important but are self-explanatory.
Basically, I thank the Lord for everything he has blessed me with. I am blessed more than I deserve!

Now, let's eat!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I LOVE the weekend recap

Hubby was away this weekend so I had a lot of time to myself and was able to relax. I went to the gym, shopped, gave myself a facial, cleaned, and watched a lot of chick flicks. I feel very refreshed!

Before I went shopping, I needed some coffee. I LOVE Dunkin Donut's regular coffee. Did you know Dunkin has holiday cups too?

I went to Tanger Outlets to get some more makeup from the Bare Minerals store and came home with their skincare line too. If you LOVE Bare Minerals like I do, then you must go to the outlet store now. I bought their facial cleanser, daily moisturizer, and eye cream for only $29 (an $80 value). Oh, and I came home with some Christmas gifts and a Christmas Tree scented candle :)

I spent the evening watching the most "girly" movies I could find, LOL and Rock of Ages. LOL was entertaining but I wouldn't watch it again. Rock of Ages was a little cheesy but I LOVE musical's so I enjoyed it. It reminded me how much I LOVE 80's music but do not LOVE the fashion.

Lots of cuddle time was spent with this guy:

Sunday was cold and rainy so hot chocolate was completely necessary!

This week is a short one! We can do it!

I LOVE Flashback Friday

Happy Friday! This week went by pretty fast for me, thankfully. This weekend, I plan on doing a whole-lot-of nothing. What are you doing this weekend?

Today's flashback is...

Plastic Zig Zag flexible hairbands!

Did you wear these? I sure did. What happened to them? Does anyone still wear these?

I saw this picture from gossipswim.com and it made me want to find my old zig zag's and recreate this hairstyle:

This look is hippy-chic and I  LOVE it!

Have a great weekend, friends!
