I {kind of} LOVED 2012

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Mine was wonderful. I'll show pictures later on this week.

I fell in LOVE with many things this year but if I am being completely honest with myself (and y'all) I can't say that I LOVED 2012. Actually, I did not LOVE it one little bit. 2012 turned out to be a really tough year. I felt pain like I have never felt before and cried hard more times than I can count. Although, through the toughest days it was obvious that the Lord was guiding me closer to Him. I feel so blessed that He LOVES me so much that even during the darkest days he allows me to see His light.

This past year my relationships have grown deeper and my faith has grown stronger. My LOVE for my husband grows stronger every passing day. He and I are a team and have helped lift each other up throughout this tough year. We've learned to LOVE a little harder and laugh with each other a lot.

I've learned to live life with an eternal perspective because our time here is like a mist compared to eternity. I quickly learned that our days here are numbered and Christ will take us home when He is ready. His plan is much greater than mine. Even though I still ask, "why?" I trust in His will.

I learned that a church family is extremely important. My church family is filled with people who will be there for me at any time of the day. It is important to be surrounded by people who encourage and hold me accountable in my faith.

I've learned that fear does not come from the Lord and with His help, I can overcome it.

I've learned that quality time with friends is very important. Old friends hold a special place in my heart and will never be replaced. New friends are placed in my life for a reason and I should not overlook the importance they will hold in my life.

I've learned to be intentional about my actions towards friends and family. It is important to make an effort and keep those relationships strong no matter what the distance is between us. Forgiveness is necessary.

Honestly, I don't know how people get through life without the Lord. As I reflect on this past year, I am reminded that the Lord was, and will continue to be, with me through the good and bad times.

I am looking forward to sharing 2013 with you! Here's a sneak peak of what to expect:
San Francisco/Napa Valley trip, 3 year anniversary, 3rd nephew in April, say "so long" to age 27, 10 year high school reunion's, holiday's with family, etc.

Bring on 2013 - I am ready for you! Goodbye 2012!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I LOVE Flashback Friday

Well folks...the world didn't end today. DUH! People are crazy. Anyway, happy Friday! Unless I get a wild hair, today will be my last post until after Christmas. I am going to savor every moment I have with family and I hope you do as well.

Happy first day of winter! It's only supposed to be in the 50's today which definitely feels like winter here in Charleston. I'm not a cold weather girl but I don't mind it around the holidays.

I'm sure y'all are dying to know what color I painted my nails...right? ha.

The winning color was...

Excuse Moi! by OPI
I LOVE how it looks on my nails. It is fun and festive. A little bit of sparkle is perfect for Christmas. Heck, a little bit of sparkle is perfect any time of the year! What do you think?

Today's flashback is...

Cabbage Patch Kids!

Did y'all grow up LOVING the cabbage patch dolls? I sure did. I had one of the dolls with brown hair and her name was Candace. I am pretty sure she was the one in yellow. I don't know if she came with the name Candace or if I named her that on my own. I LOVED her. I slept with her every night, ha. What is it about little girls and dolls? I wonder why we LOVED them so much?

I hope y'all have a very Merry Christmas!

I LOVE painted nails

If you know me personally or have been reading for a while, you know that I LOVE painted nails. I truly believe that the color of your nails will alter the way you feel about yourself. For example, when I wear pink, I feel pretty and feminine. When I wear a dark color, I feel edgy and bold. You know what I mean? It's rare that I go more than a week or two without painting my nails. Since tomorrow night is our Christmas date night and we are headed out of town this weekend, I need to paint my nails tonight. Below are some colors I am trying to decide between:

Which color do you think I should choose? Do you have any other fun winter nail suggestions?

I LOVE surprise shopping trips

Friday night, Michael and I have our annual Christmas date night. Usually on this night, we exchange Christmas gifts, eat pizza, and watch a Christmas movie. This year, we are only exchanging stockings since we already purchased our new couches. We were throwing around different dinner idea's when Michael mentioned that we should go to Kaminsky's. I was sold. I LOVE Kaminsky's. It is the best dessert restaurant downtown...for sure. Then, he said the magical words, "You have a gift card to Forever so we can go there before Kaminsky's if you want." Sayyyyy whhhhhhhat?!?! Yes, please!

Christmas stocking exchange + Forever 21 + Kaminsky's...all with my hubby = best night ever! ha. Can you tell how excited I am?

Below are some items that I'm swooning over and will have to decide between:

I LOVE Weddings

First, my heart is breaking for the families in CT. I can not imagine the pain the community is feeling. I pray that they will cling tight to the Lord during this time. He is the one who will bring them the comfort and hope they need to make it through every minute of each day. I am confident that, one day, God will overcome the evil that exists in this world. God is good, all the time. Let's not forget that during a time where we all are questioning, "why?".

Second, I was honored to attend a beautiful wedding on Sunday. Here are some pictures of the fabulous event. Congrats Jenna & Tim!

They wrote their own vows which made it obvious how strong their LOVE is for one another.

Praying together before their first kiss.

Jenna & Tim left the ceremony dancing to the song, "I like to move it, move it" - I LOVED this.

Have a great week-before-Christmas!
