I LOVE Friday Fancies

Yes, you read that correctly...Friday Fancies. No more Flashback Friday. Why you may ask? I am bored with it! It is the post that gets the least amount of views so I figured y'all would be okay without it too. I never want to post something "just because" so I am doing away with Flashback Friday. Who knows, it may pop up here and there but it won't be a weekly thing.

Why Friday Fancies? Long Distance Loving has become one of my favorite blogs to read and she does a link up called Friday Fancies. I noticed that I looked forward to this post each week so I decided to join along with her and do my own Friday Fancies. Each week will have a different theme so it'll be something new every Friday. Hope you enjoy!

Today's Friday Fancies: Outfit Crush

Michael and I are headed to San Francisco & Napa Valley in February and I am already beginning to plan out my outfits. I saw this outfit on Pinterest and fell in LOVE with it. Below is how I would recreate this outfit crush:

Friday Fancie - Outfit Crush

Oh, and this entire outfit is under $100 - score! If it makes it's way into my suitcase, I'll be sure to let you know!

 Have a great weekend, friends!

I LOVE the Liebster Award

I had no idea what the Liebster Award was until I received a nomination from Kelly. You, too, may be wondering what the Liebster Award is. The Liebster award is given to up-and-coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It allows new readers to learn more about the author of each blog. Thanks Kelly!

The Rules:

 1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each bloggers page and let them know about the award.
6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.

11 facts about me:
1. My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important relationship I have.
2. My husband is my best friend.
3. I wish I was able to sing really, really well.
4. I graduated from Appalachian State University - Go App!
5. In college, I was a sister in Alpha Phi Fraternity (founded before the word sorority was formed).
6. I am a very cautious person.
7. My favorite color is pink.
8. I played college volleyball for 2 years at Pfeiffer University before transferring to App.
9. I often have very vivid dreams.
10. I am a body-type specific fashion stylist and everything is done online. (I would like this to become part of my blog, eventually!)
11. I believe we should fall in LOVE with as many things as possible.

Kelly's Questions:
1. What's your favorite season? Why?
Spring. I love the 70 something degree weather, longer days, sundresses and flip-flops.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I already live there: Charleston, SC. I live where everyone else vacates! The beach, the city that feels like a small town, a little bit of cold but mainly warm weather...perfect!

3. Where will you be in five years?
In a house, with another dog, and a baby (God willing).

4. What is your daily routine like?
Wake up & fix coffee for both me and my husband, spend time with the Lord, get ready and go to work, work until 5, go to the gym, go to the grocery, shower, cook & eat dinner, watch tv, then go to bed. Repeat.

5. What are some of your favorite hair/ makeup products that you like to use?
Makeup: anything and everything Bare Minerals. Liquid eyeliner by Covergirl or Maybelline.
Hair: bobby pins. Still searching for the perfect styling product.

6. What is your dream job?
    Stay-at-home mom/housewife.

7. What are a few of your vices?
I have moments of intense fear that cause me to withdraw & seclude myself from perfectly normal situations. Does that make sense? I am sure I have many more vices but am thankful for God's mercy and grace that he has and will forgive me when I slip up.

8. Name three things on your bucket list.
Go to San Francisco & Napa Valley (which we are doing in February), have a baby (or two), go to Hawaii

9. What are your top three favorite blogs to read?
I don't think I could list a top three but I do LOVE to read blogs by people I know personally and Charleston bloggers.

10. Why do you blog?
It started as something to pass the time and to share what I have fallen in LOVE with. Little did I know I would fall in LOVE with blogging. I enjoy sharing (and receiving) idea's within the blogging community through quotes, music, fashion, food, etc.

11. If you had an entire day to yourself, what would you do?
If I didn't have any cleaning to do or errands to run I would sit on the beach while reading a good book. I would finish the day by eating pizza and watching a movie. Relaxation at its finest!

11 Questions by me:
1. Why did you start blogging and what keeps you going?
2. If you were given 1 million dollars to spend on yourself, what would you do with it?
3. What are some of your pet-peeves?
4. If there was a movie made about your life, who would you want to play you?
5. What are the top 3 best moments of your life?
6. What is the best advice you've been given?
7. Do you have any hidden talents? If so, what is it?
8. Would you rather have an endless amount of shoes or purses?
9. Who has been the most influential person in your life?
10. Would you rather live in the city or in the country? Why?
11. What is the one thing you want people to remember about you after they meet you?

I LOVE the weekend recap

Michael and I spent Saturday with two of our favorite kids, Hannah & George. We went to the park and made cookies. We LOVE every moment we get to spend with these two. Aren't they the cutest?!?

We are already looking forward to the next time we get to hangout with these kiddos!

I LOVE Flashback Friday

Whew...we made it! It's finally Friday. Finally! Anyone else feel this way?

Have you ever cooked something for dinner and honestly thought that it turned out better than what you could have bought at a restaurant? That happened to me last night. I had some left over meat and vegetables from the night before and decided to make a homemade calzone with the dough I had in the freezer. Michael and I each ate half and were full by the time we were finished. It was so delicious; I had to share it with y'all!

Heat oven to 425.
Spread dough into a circle on a baking stone.
Top one side with desired ingredients.
Fold opposite side over the ingredients and close the edges.
Top with Parmesan cheese (optional).
Bake for 18 minutes.

Now, today's flashback is...

Monopoly!

I know that Monopoly isn't really a flashback since it is still around, although, I figured I would highlight the old board since it has, and will, change. What do y'all think about them replacing one of the old tokens? I don't have an opinion on the change...I actually don't really care. I will admit that all this Monopoly talk has made me want to play the game!

Have a great weekend, friends. It's supposed to be beautiful here and I plan on taking full advantage of the warmer weather!

I LOVE Balsamic Vinegar Chicken

When I first saw this recipe on Amazing Pinterest World Blog, I knew I had to try it. Not only did I already have most of the ingredients in my refrigerator or pantry, I also LOVED everything in the recipe. I made this dish last night and hubs and I fell in LOVE with it. It was so easy to make and extremely delicious. It will become one that I make frequently!

Balsamic Vinegar Chicken

Ingredients:
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
4 – 5 garlic cloves
1 cup fresh basil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 package of cherry or grape tomatoes
1/2 red onion sliced

Preparation:
Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Brown the chicken breasts in a pan. In a blender place the garlic, basil, olive oil, vinegar, water and pulse until pureed.

Place the browned chicken breasts in a pyrex and cover with the basil, garlic mixture. Top with mushrooms, tomatoes and onion and bake for about 40 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked.
*I added a sprinkle of feta cheese to the top of the dish and definitely recommend you doing this if you like feta*

Let me know if you try this recipe and what you think of it!

I LOVE Nicholas Sparks

Nicholas Sparks has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I LOVE story lines that make me think they could happen in real life. I first fell in LOVE with the movie, The Notebook. After that, I cried my eyes out watching, The Last Song. As soon as I heard that his book, The Lucky One, was going to be made into a movie I decided that I wanted to read the book first. Good idea or bad idea? I'm not sure. I realized there is absolute truth to the saying, "The book is always better than the movie." Currently I am reading, Safe Haven, which is coming to theaters in February. I have already fallen in LOVE with this book and am excited to see the movie. Hopefully, it'll be more like the book then The Lucky One turned out to be.

Anyway, with all of that being said...I have fallen in LOVE with his books. I fully intend on buying and reading all of his books, as well as, watching the movies.

Do you LOVE Nicholas Sparks as much as I do?

I LOVE Flashback Friday

Happy Friday, friends! I am so happy it is Friday but my internal clock is completely off. I have been staying in bed a little longer every morning and today feels like Wednesday. Maybe next week I'll finally get on my normal schedule!

Today's flashback is...

80's Neon T-Shirt Clip!

These were the go-to item when you wanted your baggy t-shirt to fit tighter. I do, indeed, remember using these! Did you? Now they are used for Halloween costumes and I hope they never come back in style. ha, awful!

Have a great weekend!

I LOVE picture recaps

Warning: Picture heavy post! :)

Like I said before, we had a wonderful Christmas. We spent the holiday in Boone and had a blast. Christmas always goes by way to quickly...don't ya think?

New Year's Eve was also a great time. We had a group of friends come to Charleston to ring in 2013. We made a low country boil before heading downtown.

Now, back to reality! I do LOVE the holiday's but I am ready to get back into my normal schedule. Have a great finish to the week!
