I LOVE Friday's Fancies

Happy Good Friday!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have been fighting a nasty cold and haven't felt like doing much of anything. Although, a little warmer weather is coming in this weekend and I plan to enjoy it so this cold better clear up soon!

Today's Friday's Fancies with Long Distance Loving: Pretty in Pastel!

Easter is full of pastel colors so it is only natural to incorporate pastels into your wardrobe. I saw this dress from Vestique and knew it had to be the center of my Friday's Fancies outfit.

I hope y'all have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter. He is Risen!!

I LOVE my iPhone

I didn't realize how much I LOVE my iPhone until I cracked the screen and it was sent away. Yes, I was one of those people using my phone even though I could barely read anything on the screen due to a large, spider-web looking crack. Little chard's of glass would fall off every time I swiped the screen. Luckily, I have insurance on the phone so I had it sent away and the lovely people at Best Buy Mobile say they will send me a new one by Wednesday. In the meantime, they gave me a BlackBerry as a loaner phone. Yes, I am grateful to still have a phone but, my goodness, this phone is terrible. I used to have one and I never disliked it as much as I do now. I really want my iPhone back.

A new phone calls for a new case, right?! Clearly, my cute, pink, sparkled case didn't protect my phone very well. Although, I still find myself leaning towards fun cases rather than the safe ones. Here are some of my recent faves:

I LOVE St. Patrick's Day

We celebrated St. Patrick's day on Saturday at Folly Beach with some great friends. Remember the outfit I put together for last Friday's Fanices? I remembered that I had some very similar pieces in my own closet and recreated my Friday Fancies outfit. Oh, and I bought those Tom's and I LOVE them. Although, I didn't wear them with my outfit because I didn't want them to get dirty the day I bought them.

Michael and I started our day at Starbucks and, of course, I got the Green Tea Frap.

Next, we headed to the beach for a fun day with friends.

On Sunday, I discovered another fabulous drink...
I don't particularly LOVE coconut water but this one mixed with espresso was delicious!

Thanks for your prayers yesterday. They sure were needed!

March 18, 2012

I don't normally write posts without LOVE in the title, although, if I did that today I'd be lying. On this day last year my good friend, Joshua, went home to be with the Lord. It was the hardest, most painful day of my life. The Lord used Joshua to further his kingdom and there has been a lot of good throughout this past year, although, it doesn't make today any easier. His wife (Liz) and 2 children (Hannah & George) are like family to me and I know today will be tougher than the rest. Please say an extra prayer for his entire family as they are reminded of that terrible day.

Liz started a blog in December so she could write down the events of that day and future days to come. If you want to read about it, click here. There are 3 posts so start from the beginning.

Two of the worship leaders at our church, Martin Chalk and Brandon Lake, wrote a song inspired by this tragedy. In this video they discuss their inspiration:

This song means so much to me. Not only because I know the people who inspired the song but also because the words are 100% true. No matter what mountain we're facing, God is with us. They played this song for the first time at one of the first Wednesday services. The lyrics are shown on the video. Click here for the full version of the song. I pray that it encourages you, as well.

Michael and I got married in front of the Morris Island Lighthouse. As our wedding gift, Joshua painted that special spot. This painting is an absolute treasure.

Miss you everyday, friend!

I LOVE Friday's Fancies

Today's Friday's Fancies with Long Distance Loving is: Lucky Ladies!

Sunday is St. Patrick's Day and I am sure most every person will be wearing green in one way or another. We were told to put together a St. Patrick's Day outfit filled with green!

The weather in Charleston this weekend is supposed to be beautiful. We will spend it outside with lots of friends so I see myself wearing a comfortable outfit that I can easily walk around in, similar to the one below. Oh, and those Tom's will be mine soon!

I LOVE hair

It's March which means warm weather is coming soon. Warm weather means lots of time spent outdoors. Time outdoors means tan skin. Tan skin calls for lighter hair. For most, lightening their hair is "no big deal" but for me is a huge deal. I've only highlighted my hair twice. Once at the beginning of the summer for the past two years. I make sure the highlights are very subtle and can grow out without showing roots. Although, this small change is still a huge deal to me. I search the internet for inspiration pictures and below are some of my favorites:
